X-Mas Innovation

X-MAS INNOVATION

 20 DECember 2016

It already is time for the second ThingsCon Salon event in Milan.
After the successful first ever event in Italy, we are coming right before this holiday season with a fresh resolution for the upcoming new year: Innovation!

But as it is the beginning of holidays, it makes sense to indulge ourselves in the Christmas spirit. So this time we are bringing to you some really cool IoT projects which also chime in with the Natale symphonies.

Through these products’ stories, we will look into the realities of the market situation, how they found their respective niches, and their journey from idea, conceptualization, prototyping all the way to the shelves of the market.

PROJECTS & PROTOTYPES

EVENT SCHEDULE

Find us at the entrance to check-in or to register. Anyways, come early and grab the best seats for the event.

Pier Bardoni welcomes you to the 2nd edition of ThingsCon Salon in Milan. He introduces our team, our partners and the event itself to those who are new to it.

enrico-noseda1Enrico Noseda, Partner at growITup (growth platform for Italian startups) introduces their Empowering Communities initiative program as a new partner of ThingsCon Milan.

Anshul Jain, Product Experience Designer and Federico Giaimo, UX Strategist & Researcher at  THINGS Srl guide us into the quickly changing realm of IoT and smart devices, how they are now entering the more personal niches of our life changing the way we live. All this, with a flavour of Christmas.

Mario Callisto & Marco Franciosa, Co-founders of LEDWorks shed some light on their journey from idea, to concept, to prototyping and finally on market shelves and in our homes. They share with us the thick and thin of their startup journey.

Raffaele Curci, CFO & Co-founder of Mind Music Labs is creating a connected music ecosystem for smart instruments. They have developed the world’s first truly smart guitar and would like to share their story.

Pier Bardoni concludes the event while throwing in a chip or two of his own perspective about the rapidly transforming terrain of the digital – physical world we live in.

Its time to meet people with similar interests. There might be plenty of opportunities for startuppers, investors, techies, enthusiasts, basically everyone. Make the best of it. Whats more, try hands-on the prototypes/products presented.

Like all good things, this evening must come to an end. While wishing you a fantastic Christmas and a great new year ahead, we would like to suggest you to stay tuned, as 2017 is going to be a big one!

Hyper Connected Domesticity

Hyper Connected Domesticity

 28 june 2016

We took a peek into the near future of IoT: Smart Homes, where the intelligence of the environment is spread among digital / physical products and services.

At Hyper Connected Domesticity, the first event of the ThingsCon community in Italy, we talked about potential ideas to enable the smart home, discussing how they enhance our day-to-day interactions while opening new levels of user experience.

Students of the Master in Interaction Design at Domus Academy explored the topics of enhanced domesticity and soft monitoring to develop concepts and prototypes of connected objects able to go beyond the mobile interfaces and product performances.

They focused on home and personal behaviours, enhancing human interactions and communication both in domestic and remote environment, exploring playful dialogues between people and objects, and debating about objects personality, need of attention and emotional intimacy.

The 4 projects resulting from this work were presented at Hyper Connected Domesticity.
